5th International Rhinoplasty Workshop 2019

The 5th International Rhinoplasty Workshop was being organized by MIMER Medical College, and Dr BSTR Hospital, Talegaon Dabhade, Pune at the college and at Hotel JW Marriott, Pune from 14 to 16 Feb 2019. This workshop was the latest in a series of hands-on courses being organized under the able and skilled guidance of Course Director Dr Virendra Ghaisas, a premier and internationally renowned ENT surgeon of Pune and Executive Director of MIMER Medical College. The workshop was a unique opportunity for both experienced and up-and-coming ENT surgeons to upgrade their knowledge and skills in the challenging field of Rhinoplasty.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WORKSHOP –
Hands on Cadaveric Dissection Course – MIMER Medical College
Date: 13 Feb 2019 Time: 01.00pm to 05.00pm
This course was conducted in association with Department of Anatomy. There were 14 delegates, including 2 foreign delegates – 1 from Nepal and 1 from Iraq. The delegates came from all over India and abroad for this unique hands-on session. Dr. Virendra Ghaisas demonstrated the techniques in a systematic and step by step fashion on fresh cadaver which followed by hands on dissection by 14 delegates. The feedback was encouraging with the delegates feeling more confident about adopting advanced Rhinoplasty techniques into their own clinical practice.
Lecture Series – Hotel J W Marriott, Pune
Date: 14 Feb 2019 Time: 01.00 pm to 07.00 pm
Insightful and educational lectures were delivered by many International and National faculties which helped delegates to improve their knowledge of different techniques of Rhinoplasty. There were more than 240 delegates from all over the world i.e. from India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iraq and Yemen.
Live Surgery Demonstration – Hotel J W Marriott, Pune
Date: 15 and 16 Feb 2019 Time: 8.00 am – 8.00 pm
Internationally renowned ENT surgeons such as Prof Dr Wolfgang Gubisch and Dr Sebastian Haack from the Marien Hospital in Stuttgart, Germany and Prof Dr Yong Ju Jang from Asan Medical Centre of Ulsan College of Medicine Korea along with Dr Virendra Ghaisas demonstrated 10 Live Surgeries to the delegates over the two days. These were relayed live on large screens at Hotel J W Marriott for the benefit of the delegates with experts in the hall to immediately convey any questions or comments to the operating faculty.
The workshop had garnered huge attention amongst the fraternity of ENT surgeons in India and many experienced ENT surgeons as well as recent graduates in the specialty had registered as delegates.
This Workshop was organized under the guidance of Dr. Virendra Ghaisas – Course Director, Dr. Suchitra Nagare – Executive Director, the Department of ENT, Department of Anatomy and Organising Team – MIMER Medical College, Talegaon Dabhade.
Maharashtra Medical Council had given a total of 3 Credit Hours to this Workshop.
